• Hello Monday!

Ok peoples, grab your caffination delivery substance of choice and get that commute started. Or sit on the couch and try to figure out what the cat is staring at.  Either way, it’ll still be Monday.

Look. I get it. Garfield hated Mondays, and we all feel obliged to agree with him. But sometimes we forget, Garfield isn’t real. He’s a cartoon character. A drawing. On paper, once upon a time. Maybe it’s his love for lasagna that lends credibility to his irrational ranking of days. But everyone loves lasagna. Ev. Er. Ree. One. Seriously, if you find someone who doesn’t like lasagna, they’re probably a pod-person from outterspace. Not that that makes them a bad person. Some of my best friends possibly from outterspace. And not one of them has ever taken my brain out and replaced it with keylime jello.  That I’m aware of.

    Anycrap. Have a day.

  • I have intentions today. Intentions of productivity. Specifically, I will clean.

Fall has been short. It was hot for too long and now it is cold. We had about 2 weeks of autumn. But that is okay. I will embrace the frigid Arctic blast with flannel ladened arms. I willingly cast aside my Pumpkin Spice Latte, and make room for all the peppermint mocha. Bread has been baked. Cookies will be soon. The cats are angry about it all, but easily placated with cheese.

Have some cookies for breakfast today! Because all a food needs to be a breakfast food, is for you to eat it for breakfast.

  • I don’t know what to write. It happens sometime.

    Anywho. Do something good today.

  • My brain is tired. It won’t math with words. So I have brought a classic Cat Haiku out of retirement for your reading pleasure.

Today is Thursday (garbage goes out) which means you’ve made it past the midway point and the weekend is in sight. Unless you work in retail or food service.  Then today is the proverbial calm before the storm, and I’ll say a little  ̶p̶r̶a̶y̶e̶r̶  Haiku for you. Either way, lace up the boots and push through it. There’s cats and hot cocoa once you’ve clocked out.

  • I may have gotten distracted and forgot to write anything for a day or seven…

But I am back. Putting pen to paper, as the kids say. (the kids do not say that). In reality, however, there are no papers nor pens. Not even pencils or crayons (may have eaten the crayons. Yut.) I write the modern way. With my thumbs. I should probably find my laptop, figure out if it works, and use all my fingers to write. The larger thoughts would benefit from a larger implement. But for now, haiku and minor ramblings need little, and the hitchhiker apparati are up to the task.

Today will be at least okay. So finish your warm beverage of choice, put on pants, and do something moderately constructive!!

  • I took the weekend off. I think that’s ok. I ate a lot of cookies. That is probably less ok.

Whenever possible, start your week off with a cat.

If you do not have a cat, reach out to your local branch of the Cat Distribution Network, and the universe will assign you to one.

If you still cannot begin your week with a cat, large quantities of caffeinated beverage are an adequate substitution.

  • I’m just a simple caveman. Your fancy world of fast cars and wordpresses scares and confuses me… But I am starting to understand this websitey doodad.

So, as you navigate your own adventure today, stop for a moment. Do nothing. Stare at a bird. Or a rock. Or maybe your shoe. And just space out for a moment. You deserve it.

  • It is finally fall. Summer held on far too long. It’s time for long pants and slippers and hot drinks and cats napping in my lap. Soon there will be fires in the hearth and bread baking in the kitchen. Bring me those grey skies and snow covered vistas. Bring me a heavy comforter and a cat to lay upon it. Bring me snowmen and ice queens. Let winter frost my eyelashes and nip at my nose.

  • A repost, but congruent to today’s mood. At least among the cats. More than a little bit of bickering today. Dissension within the ranks. Full moon? Laced nip? Lack of cheese? It’s anyone’s guess.
  • Today, I begin a new verse in my endless quest to become some sort of writer. This also signifies my first attempt to create a website. The social medias are a poison we all willingly dip our bread in, and my own history has shown that I cannot use it constructively. So here is the future home of your daily(ish) dose of feline haikulation.

I am starting over, but not necessarily starting new. I will be reposting all the previously posted haiku, pairing each with some random ramblings and wingdings for the day. I will try again to make the “daily” part of this more closely adhere to its namesake. And I will branch out into non-haiku wordings as time goes on.

    Wish me luck.
