• I was just trying to get a picture of the chonk meister sleeping. I don’t know where her head went. She had a head a couple minutes ago. She was snoring through that head for a good half hour. But when I looked at the picture, no head.

I’m sure she’ll find it when the snacks come out. Hard to eat snacks without a head.

Anyway. I haven’t started Christmas shopping yet. I should probably look into that.

  • Yet again, it has been a few days too many since I Haikued. I would like to blame the general chaos that is Thanksgiving, but mostly, I’ve just been lazy.

But, now that the Day of Eating has passed, I will definitely be more focused and on task. Or maybe not.

For the moment, I am sitting in front of a toasty fire, snuggled beneath a toasty cat. And that is good.

  • Today is a napping day. Every day is a napping day, but today is a really good napping day. Today might be a hot-cocoa for breakfast and a lap full of cat by a crackling fireplace while I nap kinda day.

  • Well, another Thanksgiving in the books. Copious numbers of tacos were consumed by all, and there was pie for breakfast today.

But as many of you rush off to embrace your capitalistic urges, or perhaps the couch will be your destination as seasonal sports-balls begin; we should all take a moment to remember what Thanksgiving is really about. Doing dishes.

  • I probably don’t have time for a nap today. I have too many tacos to make.

A recycled haiku today. I haven’t made time for writing this week, Thanksgiving prep has monopolized most of my time and all of my little grey cells. But I’m still here, and I’m still making words.

Happy Turkey Eve, everyone! You can start eating pie at midnight.

  • Hi. I missed a couple days there. Sorry.

I could probably have a whole page dedicated dedicated to just this one fuzzball. Because she is just so ridiculously adorable!! But then I’d have to write TWO Haiku a day, and I’m not even keeping up with one. So FlooferNoofer’s fame and fortune will have to wait. Today’s Haiku comes with homework because I’m sure most of you don’t know all three of those ladies. (Not that I did.) Spend some time on the wiki today, and learn some stuff. (For example, while writing this, I learned the plural of “wiki” is “wiki”)

Turkey day is coming up! Don’t forget, your cats hate when people come over. Especially the short, grabby, loud ones. Make sure all the kitties get extra snacks and snuggles this week and next.

Also, pie is a breakfast food. You read it on the internet, it’s gotta be true.

  • There are moments, more than I should probably admit, in which I know the cats have a higher purpose, one we mere humans are not privy to. If their goal is world domination, I beg them, do it. In my best Arnold voice: “DO IT. DO IT NOW”.  But, alas, the human race is destined to self-rule and, therefore, doomed.  Humanity will proudly stoke the very fire that boils the cauldron we’ve cast ourselves into. But for now, the broth is still tepid, and we are not yet soup, and we have cats. I do not know why they have bestown themselves upon us, but I am eternally grateful. As I now apologize for my wayward obtrusion, I can only hope the cats will take me with when the mother ship arrives to take them home.

And, oh. Hey. Sorry for not having one of these up yesterday. I was really busy forgetting to do it.

I’m going to spend today (and the next 10 days) preparing for La Fiesta de Día de Acción de Gracias!!! I hope you have exciting plans too.

  • The stuff grows wild all over my yard. Because I let it. And I let it because then I get moments like this. And let’s face it, moments like this are what having a cat is all about.

Happy Saturday, everybody. I hope today brings you cake and warm naps.

  • Before you ask, yes, the tunnel on the left has teeth. It’s a shark. And it crinkles.

Bruni (right) likes to lay in wait in either of the two tunnels until an unsuspecting sibling walks past, then he “attacks”. His attacks mostly consist of bolting out of his hidey-hole at approximately mach 27 and then ubruptly stopping and standing there looking proud as the target sometimes runs away. Mostly they stare at him, perplexed, until he saunters away to the other end of the tunnel to reset his diabolical trap.

    Bruni is special.

To be fair, I will watch him do this for hours. And that makes me pretty darn special, too.

Have a weekend, everyone. Haiku return Monday, same cat time, same cat channel.

  • Just a heads up. This one isn’t a cat. Not sure if you noticed.

So, one of my nephews drew this. Unprompted.

And I did actually stumble across it while trying to get a cup of coffee. I’m not really bothered by it. In fact, it inspired a short story idea I’ll probably write if I ever finish the one I’m currently working on. I guess you could say this paper plate is my muse….

    Ok. Now it bothers me.

It’s Thursday (garbage goes out), try not to stab anyone. And if you accidently do, just blame the face on the paper plate.
