• No time for wingdings, ramblings, or memos. Maybe tomorrow.

  • Vacation is over. I am happy to see the cats. Floof is happy there aren’t strangers in the house. Most of the cats are happy there are laps to be sat upon. Perhaps some day Floof will forgive us and visit the laps again too.

  • Most of you probably don’t recognize these two. And that’s because you’ve never seen them before.

Yes. There are new Felis Domestica dwelling in our domicile. No, we did not adopt more cats. These fine feline fellows are simply visiting while they wait for the real estate market to simmer down a touch.

If you would like, say hello to Mrs. Sweatpants and Mr. Popo. They will not be replying, they lack the thumbs required to type on my phone. But I assure you, they are pleased to make your acquaintance. Providing, of course, you brought snacks.  They will not be taking questions at this time. No flash photography, please. And don’t forget to tip your servers.

  • Oh. Hello there. I didn’t hear you come in.

You’re probably wondering where I’ve been, and how the cats are doing, and whether or not I’m eating ice-cream at this very moment. Well, I’m not eating ice-cream at this very moment, and I just feel terrible about that.

As far as where I’ve been for the past (checks my watch) … (realizes I don’t wear one) who-knows-how-long, I’ve been here the whole time. I’ve just been lazy.

Cats are great though. Thanks for asking. They appreciate your concern. Not as much as they appreciate snacks, though.

And since I know you’ve all been waiting for your “daily” Haiku so patiently these last <insert number> <insert appropriate time demarkation>, I’ll post this now instead of waiting until tomorrow morning.

    You’re welcome.

  • Hey. Haven’t seen you all in a while. Sorry. Been busy. Also been lazy. It happens.

Well, the sun is shining now, and the lawn is full of crocuses, (or is it crocci?) and the cats are thoroughly enjoying the open windows. Hopefully I can finish up the indoor projects soon and maybe get the yard cleaned up a little. Hey, anythings possible, right?

    Have a Tuesday, everyone.

  • Letting my niece crash while they’re driving across the country. This isn’t my niece. This is my niece’s dog. And even though she’s not technically a cat, she gets Haikued. An honorary cat, as it were.

  • I’m coming up short on quirky ramblings today. Not too uncommon for the beginning of the week.

Time to put on pants and be productive.

    Have a day, everybody!

  • You can stop looking. There isn’t a cat in this picture. But there is a Haiku. Add in the frequency of my last couple exertions, and that’s two for three on the titular requirements. And while 66% won’t pass highschool algebra, its a hell of a batting average. Perspective.

Well. I’m gonna go clean the garage now.

  • Why is cheese so awesome? I know it naturally contains the flavor trifecta, and covers a wide swath of the texture spectrum, and it gets melty-gooey in ways that no other food-stuffs come close to achieving. But when you think about what it actually is, the entire premise is actually really gross. I mean, not just the nature of the dairy industry and the environmental tolls we blindly accept just so we have milk. But then we take that milk and let it spoil. We even add stuff to it so it spoils faster. And then we smash the resulting mass of wet globagules into a specified shape, and then we just toss it on a shelf until it gets moldy. Sometimes, after the compressed wad of curdled cow juice is completely coated in mold, it gets left on that shelf for YEARS until it dries out so much you need a hammer and wedge to break it up into manageable chunks. And then those chunks need to be shredded almost into powder before we can palatablely consume it. It’s WEIRD!

Not as weird as yogurt though. That stuff is a veritable petri dish of living bacteria, swimming in their own waste, with fruit on the bottom. Yum-y.

    Enjoy your Friday!

  • It’s cold and gray and February again. But don’t worry, soon it’ll be sweaty weather once more. If the schedule permits, I will take advantage of this meteorological alteration and nap. Mmmmmm…. nap…..

But first, coffee. And a cat. And maybe breakfast.

Have a day, everyone! And remember to slow down a little bit.
